Things that you’d expect to be easy can be surprisingly difficult, while things that should be exceedingly difficult can happen with surprising ease. Such is the case for streaming media on the Internet versus 3G cellular networks. When compared to the labyrinth of the Internet, one would think that tightly controlled proprietary 3G networks touting tens of millions of subscribers would provide the ideal platform for streaming media. However, the fact that a global live streaming media broadcast has never taken place on a cellular network reflects technology’s fickle nature. |
